Úgy határoztam, hogy amíg én itt ácsingózom, hogy kipróbálhassam végre a MOL Bubit (április közepe óta nagy volt csend a Facebook oldalukon, de tegnap végre közzétették a késés okát), és eme kívánságom beteljesületlen marad, addig körbenézek, mit rejteget a kétkerék megszállottjainak a világ porondja.
Eddig Hollandiában, Spanyolországban, Belgiumban, Olaszországban és New Yorkban néztem körbe.
Ahogy ígértem, vizuális tekerésemet Londonban folytatom.
Until I am waiting (since this post) for trying the new public bike system of Budapest, called MOL Bubi (according to their Facebook site, no steps forward happened since the middle of April, except yesterday when they announced the reason of their delay) I have decided I will take a look around the world's bike situation.
I have already visited the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Italy and New York City.
As I promised, I continue my visual trip in London.
Köztudomású, hogy London a formabontó figurákról ismert, akik nem is annyira formabontóak londoni mércével. Mind például ez a leányzó, akinek ruházata a klasszikus londoni biciklisek öltözetét jeleníti meg. Miről is van itt szó? A 2009 óta megrendezésre kerülő Tweed Run-ról, amely a saját bevallása szerint maga a sikkes városi biciklezés (forrás innen, figyelem, angol nyelvű a honlap). Ha hajlamos vagy a nosztalgiára, akkor érdemes elmélyedni a képeikben. Csodálatosak.
It is obvious that London is full with quite extreme looking persons, who do not look extreme if you compare them with other people who you can see in London. For example this lady who was dressed in classical tweed clothes in style of cyclists in former time of London. What is this event? The Tweed Run, which is organized since 2009. According to it's motto 'The Tweed Run is a metropolitan bicycle ride with a bit of style. We take to the streets in our well-pressed best, and cycle through the city's iconic landmarks' (source from here). If you like checking nostalgic pictures, let's visit their website and browsing their pictures which are full with stylish people.

Mosolygó szomszédok, avagy a szomszédkukkolás legalizált változata. Természetesen itt a hangsúly az egyestett gyalogos-bicikli sávot jelölő táblán van.
Smiling neighbours or the big brother takes care of you. But what I wanted to highlight is the plate above which illustrates the joint pedestrian and bike lane.
Már az óvodákban is van kialakított bicikli (roller) tároló. Igaz, itt a kétkerekű tárolásának meglehetősen bohém formáját láthatjuk.
Even in nursery schools there is place for storage bikes. Nevertheless it is quite bohemian style of storage bikes and rollers.
És igen. London közbringa rendszere a Barclays Bike. Ami szuper, és amikre rögtön a nyitóoldal is felhívja figyelmünket, hogy nem szükséges tagság ahhoz, hogy a rendszert használni tudjuk. Turista és látogatóbarát. És ami még jobb, rögtön a nyitóoldal közepén köszön szembe ez az üzenet, így nem kell értékes perceket fecsérelni ennek felderítésére. A használatát szintén még ezen az oldalon egy rövid kisvideó mutatja meg. Csillagos ötös! Nem beszélve az oldal által összegyűjtött rengeteg térképről, így például a bicikli dokkok helyeit vagy tömegközlekedési hálózatot jelölő térképekről.
And yes, the bike sharing system of London, Barclays Bike. Which is great you do not have to be a member to ride these bikes. This is the nicest welcome message what I have ever seen on any public bike sharing system's website. And what is more important, this message is on the middle of the main page of this site so you do not have to spend valuable minutes by searching. They also present a short video about how to use the system. Excellent idea, congratulation! Nevertheless congrats for collecting many useful maps like docking stations of bikes or all maps of public transport network.
A kerekezés egy másik formája. Sörbringát itt láttam először 2011-ben Londonban. Igazából fogalmam sincsen, hol találták fel ezt a rendkívül hasznos alkalmatosságot, ugyanis 2010-ben már Berlinben is ezen tekertek az élelmesek. A képen a Pedibus és hangos hajtói láthatóak.
Other type of riding (a bike). Beer bike by Pedibus. I have no idea who and when has invented it, but the first time when I saw this kind of bus or bike was in 2011 in London. However it existed previously as well, for example in 2010 in Berlin.
Nos, akárki, akármit mond, ezek nem a kerékpározás legbiztonságosabb formái. Mindkettő képet double decker buszon ülve készítettem.
Anybody could say anything to me, but talking me over is impossible. I do not believe riding a bike in front of a double decker bus is the safest way of riding a bike.

Londonban nem egy honlap szakosodott ám a kerékpáros életérzésre. Az egyik, ami nagyon tetszik, az a Cycle Lifestyle (itt, figyelem angol nyelven), ami kifejezetten London jobb kerékpáros hálózata érdekében jött létre. Mottóval megtámogatott petícióval készültek annak érdekében, hogy végre a londoni metróhálózattal egyenértékű bicikli út hálózatuk legyen. Nagyon ötletes, vizuálisan is kifejező. Láthatjuk tehát, hogy nemcsak Budapesten, de más nyugati fővárosban is gyerekcipőben jár a bicikli út hálózat. Ami természetesen a budapestieknek nem vigasz.
More websites exist for keep alive cycling lifestyle. One of my favorite is Cycling lifestyle (here) which has been established around the motto "We believe there should a single 'London Cycle Map' that's clear and easy to use and corresponds to a unified network of signed cycle routes throughout Greater London: the cycling equivalent of the London Underground Map." Their website expresses the idea in visual way as well. As you can see bike lane network or the lack of bike lane network is problematic in other capital of Europe as well not just in Budapest. Of course bikers in Budapest cannot be consoled by problem of other cities.

Remélem meghoztam a kedveteket egy jó kis tekeréshez, akár itthon, akár külhonban. Ha Londonban jártok, nincs appelláta, a közbringa rendszer gyakorlatilag bárkinek elérhető, tessék nyeregbe pattani. Hamarosan Bécsben tekerünk egyet, a blogon...

I hope my post got you in the mood to ride a bike whether in Hungary or abroad. If you visit London, no reason for appeal because any bike of bike sharing system can be reached by anybody. Riding a bike in Vienna soon on the blog...
